LESSONS AT DOTY BRIDGE CLUB

Two-over-One, 2/1 : 

$50 for the 4-day course.  This course covers an introduction to the 2-over-1 bidding system which includes 1NT forcing.  Knowledge of this bidding system is essential for competitive duplicate play.  The course also covers the strong two-club bid and its responses. 

Tues, Wed, Thurs, and Fri, January 31 - February 3, 9:30-11:30 a.m.

Defense:

  $50 for the 4-day course.  This course covers standard leads and defense against both No Trump and suit contracts.  Defensive guidelines for you and 

your partner are emphasized.

Tues, Wed, Thurs, and Fri, February 21 – 24, 9:30-11:30 a.m.

Play of the Hand: 

 $50 for the 4-day course.  This course emphasizes how to evaluate the play of the hand for advancing students.  The course provides a review of various finesses, when to draw trump, ruffing, and defensive plays and signals.

Tues, Wed, Thurs, and Fri, March 6 - 9, 9:30-11:30 a.m.

Refresher Bridge: 

 $50 for the 4-day course.  This is a refresher course in basic bridge skills.  Topics include basic bidding sequences and hand evaluation.  No trump 

bidding, the Stayman convention and Jacoby Transfers are covered in detail.

Tues, Wed, Thurs, and Fri, March 20 - 23, 9:30-11:30 a.m.

Advancing Bridge:  

$50 for the 4-day course.  This course covers common bidding sequences such as Takeout Doubles, Weak Two-bids, Overcalls and Negative Doubles. 

Tues, Wed, Thurs, and Fri, March 27 - 30, 9:30-11:30 a.m.

INTERMEDIATE BRIDGE

Starting Monday morning January 23 from 9:30 - 11:30 a.m.

Continuing for 4 weeks

Fee:  $50 or $15 per session

                                                        Jan. 23    No trump opening bids and responses, Stayman and transfers

                                                        Jan. 30    Opening bids of one in a suit and responses, Limit raises

                                                        Feb.  6    Rebids by opener and responder, Opening leads

                                                        Feb. 13    Weak two and three bids and responses, Basic declarer play

SPECIALIZED BIDS

Starting Monday morning February 20th from 9:30 - 11:30 a.m.

Continuing for 4 weeks
